The following ethical duties for editors, authors, and reviewers are based on the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Code of Conduct for Journal Editors. All parties involved in the publishing process must also adhere to the policies outlined in the INNOVERA Submission Guidelines.

1. Editors’ Responsibilities

  1. Based on the review report from the editorial review board, editors may accept, reject, or request modifications to a manuscript.

  2. Each manuscript must be initially assessed for originality by the editor using appropriate plagiarism detection software. After passing the desk review, the manuscript will be forwarded for double-blind peer review to the editorial review board, which will then provide a recommendation.

  3. Editors must evaluate manuscripts based on intellectual content, without discrimination based on gender, race, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, or political beliefs of the authors.

  4. Editors must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and must not disclose any information to anyone other than those directly involved in the publishing process.

  5. Editors must not use unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research without the author's written consent.

2. Authors’ Responsibilities

  1. Authors must present an accurate account of their original research and provide an objective discussion of its significance. All submissions must comply with the journal’s submission guidelines.

  2. Authors must ensure the work submitted is entirely original. If the work or words of others are used, they must be appropriately cited or quoted.

  3. Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently. Submitting the same work to multiple journals or publishing redundant manuscripts is unethical and unacceptable.

  4. Authors must properly acknowledge all sources of data used in the research and cite publications that have influenced their work.

  5. Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All contributors who meet these criteria should be listed as co-authors. The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have seen and approved the final manuscript before submission.

  6. Authors must retain raw data related to their manuscript and provide access to such data if requested for editorial review.

  7. If authors discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their submitted manuscript, they must promptly notify the editor and cooperate in the correction or retraction process.

3. Reviewers’ Responsibilities

  1. Reviewers must treat all received manuscripts as confidential documents and must not disclose any information to unauthorized persons.

  2. Reviewers must ensure that authors have appropriately cited all relevant sources. Any indication of plagiarism, duplication, or substantial similarity with other works should be reported to the editor immediately.

  3. Reviews must be conducted objectively. Reviewers should provide clear and constructive feedback with supporting arguments.

  4. If a reviewer feels unable to complete the review within the allotted time, they must inform the editor promptly so that alternative reviewers can be assigned.
